Preparations:
- We will provide you with information on what to bring, such as swimwear, wetsuit, safety gear (life jacket and helmet), and any personal equipment you may have.
Safety Briefing:
- Your lesson will typically start with a safety briefing. The instructor will explain the safety rules, potential hazards, and emergency procedures. They will ensure you understand how to use safety equipment properly and be aware of your surroundings.
Tow Craft Familiarization:
- Before
getting in the water, you'll learn about the tow craft (New Wave
Jetski). Understand the craft's features, how to board it safely, and
how to communicate with the driver via BB TALKIN Radios for easy
communication between you and your instructor.

Tow Rope Setup and Usage:
- Understand how to signal the driver for acceleration, deceleration, and release. Practice maintaining tension on the tow rope while riding.
Board and Foil Basics:
- Get to know the foilboard and hydrofoil. The instructor will explain the board's features and the hydrofoil's components, highlighting how they work together to lift you onto the foil.
Tow-in Technique:
- With the tow craft in motion, the instructor will guide you through the process of getting on the hydrofoil. Learn how to control your balance, control your position on the board, and lift onto the foil.
Balancing and Riding the Foil:
- Once on the foil, practice balancing and riding. The instructor will teach you how to control your altitude, make subtle adjustments, and maintain a stable position on the foil.
Wave Riding and Maneuvers:
- If you're learning tow foiling for wave riding, you'll practice catching and riding waves. The instructor will teach you how to steer, turn, and perform maneuvers on the foil.
Safety and Etiquette:
- Continue to reinforce safety practices, such as being aware of the tow craft's position and other water users. Learn about right of way and other etiquette rules when riding waves.
Gradual Progression:
- As you become more proficient, your instructor may expose you to different wave conditions and provide guidance for more advanced techniques, including larger waves and more aggressive maneuvers.
Feedback and Practice:
- Instructors will provide feedback on your technique and help you improve. Practice is key to building your skills and gaining confidence.
